We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Alicia Fonseca to the Sodus Intermediate School as our new Principal!
Dr. Fonseca comes to Sodus with a wealth of experience from the Rochester City School District, where she held administrative roles such as Assistant Principal at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Most recently, Dr. Fonseca served as the Executive Director of Bilingual Education and World Languages. Her background includes an impressive academic foundation: she earned her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Innovation from Purdue University, holds a Certificate of Advanced Study from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and is certified as a New York State School District and Building Leader.
Beyond her resume, it was clear throughout the several rounds of interviews and the Meet the Candidates Night that Dr. Fonseca is a warm leader with natural communication skills. She has a visible enthusiasm for becoming an active and engaged member of our Sodus community. She earned the full confidence of the interview committee by demonstrating a clear vision for academic innovation and strategic planning.
